Heroine? Saint? No, I’m an All-Works Maid (And Proud of It)!

This anime is based on a light novel series written by Atekichi, with pictures by Yukiko. It began in 2020 and is published in Japan by TO Books. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the novels in English. The TV anime was produced by the studio EMT Squared. Naoya Murakawa directed it, with Shinji Ishihira, who worked on Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, as chief director. Eri Kitagawa designed the characters. The show began streaming early, on June 24, 2026, on the Japanese services dAnime Store and ABEMA, one week before it started on TV on July 1, 2026. It ran 12 episodes.

The main character is Melody. In her past life, she was a girl in Japan. Now she has been reborn in a fantasy world, in a kingdom called Theolas. She has one clear dream: to become the best maid in the world. Maids are house workers who cook, clean, serve, and care for a home and a family. Melody takes a job as an all-purpose maid for a noble family, a count and his relatives, who have very little money. Their big house is falling apart, and they cannot pay for many servants.

This is where Melody shines. She is very good at her job, and she also has strong magic, which she uses mostly for housework. With her help, plain and cheap things become wonderful. The old house is repaired and looks like new again. She can serve, clean, hunt for food, and fix things with her own hands. She is cheerful, hardworking, and proud of her work.

The comedy comes from something Melody does not know. Her new world is really the setting of an otome game. An otome game is a romance video game for girls, where the player chooses a handsome partner. In the game, Melody is not a background character at all. She is meant to be the heroine and the saint, the most important girl in the whole story, with amazing holy power. But Melody has no idea. She has zero interest in being a heroine. To her, all that matters is doing her work well.

So the usual game story never goes the way it should. Handsome men might show interest in her, but she is too busy to notice. Even a threat from a Demon Lord is not as important to her as the next job on her list. Without meaning to, she changes the fate of the people around her, simply by being a very good maid.

The show is a light, cozy fantasy comedy. It pokes gentle fun at otome game stories and reborn-in-another-world stories, and it has many slapstick jokes and relaxing slice-of-life moments. It is a good choice for viewers who enjoy a happy, capable heroine and warm, easygoing fun.
