About
Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspal is a new anime project from the Code Geass franchise. Some English sites spell the name Aspar, and others spell it Aspal. The title can be read as Code Geass: Aspal, the Star Chaser. Sunrise, the studio behind the series, announced it on December 7, 2025. The news came at a fan event in Tokyo called the Code Geass Project To 20th. The event celebrated 20 years since the first Code Geass anime began on television in 2006.
The new series is said to be a fresh work, not a copy of an older show. Very little about its story has been shared. At the time of writing, the plot has not been revealed. It is also not clear which characters will appear. A teaser was shown later, and the series is planned for 2027. Because the details are so few, this page does not guess about the story.
Here is what is known about the people making it. Kazuya Nomura is the director. He has worked on shows such as Joker Game and Moriarty the Patriot. Madoka Nozaki handles the series composition, which means planning the whole story and the scripts. Rolua designs the characters. A designer named Yoshi works on the designs for the Agalmatta, a name the project uses in its staff list. Taro Iwashiro is named as the composer of the music.
The new show comes after other recent Code Geass works. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion started the franchise in 2006, and a second season followed in 2008. A film called Lelouch of the Re;surrection came out in 2019. Another project, Rozé of the Recapture, was made in 2024. It is a 12-episode series that was first shown in cinemas in four parts and on Disney+. A TV broadcast of Rozé was planned for July 2026. The announcement said this broadcast was meant as a step toward the new series.
For now, fans know the title, the staff, and the plan for a 2027 release. More facts should come as the project moves forward.
