Yumene Connect, Kou Sawada's alien-gadget comedy from Weekly Shonen Magazine, gets a TV anime at Studio Massket
Shochiku opened a site for the adaptation on October 14 with a teaser visual and video. Yusuke Kobayashi plays the friendless freshman Yuhi and Yu Shinohara voices Nano, the clumsy alien who turns his school days upside down.
A boy who never got the chance to make friends, and a visitor from outer space with a suitcase full of very questionable merchandise: that is the setup Shochiku is bringing to television. Yumene Connect, Kou Sawada's comedy running in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, has been confirmed for a TV anime, announced on October 14 through a newly opened official website carrying a teaser visual and a short teaser video.
Yuhi Takamiya, the lead, is a first-year high schooler whose fever kept him home when classes began, leaving him without a single friend once he got back; Final Weapon notes that he retreated into playing the quiet bookworm. Then Nano arrives. A klutzy alien of the Pokotsun species, she has come to Earth to sell him a range of outlandish products, and his formerly uneventful school life spins out of control from there. The official site pitches the series as slapstick on a cosmic scale with a cast of heroines, and also introduces Nyorupuppu Pampippi, a parasitic creature it describes as "dangerous (?)", who has not been cast yet. Anime.com points out that the site also uses the label "sukebe fantasy" for the comedy, and AniList's listing files the title under comedy and ecchi.
Yusuke Kobayashi voices Yuhi. Nano goes to Yu Shinohara; several English-language write-ups romanized her name as Yu Sasahara, but the official cast credit reads 篠原侑, Shinohara.
Behind the camera, Sota Yokote is directing at Studio Massket, a credit Anime.com connects to his work on To Your Eternity Season 3. Gigaemon Ichikawa is writing the series composition and handling the scripts, Yoshihiro Watanabe adapts Sawada's characters for animation, and Hayato Matsumura is composing the score, with Lantis producing the music. Shochiku leads the project as planner and executive producer.
The manga itself is young. Sawada started it in Weekly Shonen Magazine in September 2024, and Kodansha put out the ninth collected volume on July 16. The tenth is due October 16, two days after the anime reveal.
No premiere date, season, or broadcaster has been named. A staff message on the official site refers to the show going out on terrestrial TV, but the channel and time slot are still to be announced.
