The Vermilion Mask will return for its second cour in April 2027 after a 12-episode first half
100studio's adaptation of Dr. Poro and Nabana Naba's dark fantasy manga keeps its Saturday 5:30 p.m. slot on Yomiuri TV and NTV, and Crunchyroll keeps streaming it.
The Vermilion Mask has barely started its run, and its return is already scheduled. The production confirmed that the back half of the 24-episode series begins in April 2027, keeping its Saturday 5:30 p.m. home on Yomiuri TV and the wider Nippon TV network. A precise date is still to come; current listings put the first half's closing episode on December 26.
At its center is a young pupil of the mask maker Gaston Roux, whose creations lend power to whoever wears them. When an accursed mask belonging to a war god seizes control of him, the boy unwillingly slaughters his teacher and the other apprentices, then vows to hunt down and break every mask Gaston crafted, several of which now belong to formidable foes.
Tetsuaki Watanabe, director of the first Blue Lock season, heads the production at 100studio, with Gai Hazako assisting, Daisuke Ohigashi structuring the scripts and Hisashi Higashijima adapting the character art. Taihi Kimura leads the voice cast, and the rock band MAN WITH A MISSION supplies the opening song. For the twelfth episode, T.N.T frontman Yuya Tegoshi drops in as a guest.
Crunchyroll simulcasts the show across most territories outside East Asia, from the Americas and Europe to Oceania and India, while Japanese viewers can also catch it on ABEMA, DMM TV or Hulu after broadcast.
Dr. Poro writes and Nabana Naba illustrates the original manga, running since February 2021 in Young King OURS. Nine collected books are available, with a tenth arriving in Japan on November 30.
