Spice and Wolf Season 2 teaser heads for Lenos and brings back Romi Park as the merchant Eve
Passione's remake revealed its first Season 2 teaser at Dengeki Bunko's autumn online festival, casting Romi Park as Eve Bolan, the role she played in the 2008 anime. The season is due in 2027.
Romi Park is stepping back into a part she originated almost twenty years ago. Saturday's first preview of the second Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF season, which premiered at the property's slot in the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 stream before going up on TOHO animation's YouTube page, credits her as Eve Bolan, the same figure she played in the 2008 adaptation.
The character sheet sketches Eve as an enigmatic dealer encountered in Lenos, the harbor city where the clip shows the journey continuing. Daring to the point of recklessness and shrewd about money, she stakes everything on long-shot ventures and leans on Lawrence to join a risky play built around pelts. Park, in a short statement, said she was thrilled to come back to that world.
Same studio, a reshuffled director's chair
Passione remains in charge. Takeo Takahashi keeps his chief director title, now alongside Hijiri Sanpei, who helmed the 2024 run, and the episode-level directing passes to Nobuyoshi Nagayama, credited on Smile Down the Runway, and Takahiro Majima. Koji Haneda, a The Faraway Paladin alumnus, is again among the designers, Kazuhiro Inoue handles backgrounds as art director, and Kevin Penkin, whose earlier scores include Made in Abyss, Tower of God and The Rising of the Shield Hero, is back writing the soundtrack.
A 2027 slot had been public before; this preview did not narrow it further, and which service will carry it abroad is unknown.
Where the remake stands
Isuna Hasekura's tale got this fresh retelling in spring 2024, running continuously until September for 25 episodes. Jun Fukuyama, Ami Koshimizu and Mai Nakahara returned from the older show as Lawrence, Holo and Norah. That run is on Crunchyroll, with an English dub, across North America, Britain, Ireland, Oceania and over fifty further regions. Its hook: a peddler with a horse cart finds a harvest goddess, who looks like a young woman except for her lupine ears and tail, and agrees to escort her toward the northern home she left long ago.
Hasekura's books date to 2006. They paused at book 17 in 2011, picked up again in 2016, and a 25th entry is due October 9. Yen Press handles English editions of the prose and of the comic version.
