Yuya Tenjo's double life is coming back to television this winter. The second season of I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too is set for January 2027, with Tokyo MX and BS11 among the Japanese channels lined up. The October 15 reveal brought a fresh key visual and the season's opening promo video, though no exact day has been fixed yet.

Two newcomers headline the update. Sora Amamiya, known for KonoSuba, is Mai Kagurazaka, a miko dragged into the fantasy realm to serve as its "Saint." Ikumi Hasegawa of 86 plays Iris Knowblade, a royal swordswoman honored as the "Sword Saint." They join a returning core led by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yuya, with Akari Kito as Kaori Hojo and Kaori Maeda as Lexia.

Behind the scenes

Millepensee animates once more, while Unlimited Produce by TMS plans and produces. Shin Itagaki, whose earlier work includes So I'm a Spider, So What?, sits in the director's chair, and Hiromi Kimura stays on character designs. A good part of the crew below them is new: fresh names now cover the art and background design, photography, the 3D CG, the edit, and the score.

Where the series stands

Season one ran 13 episodes between April and June 2023 and can be watched on Crunchyroll. A one-off TV special followed on March 30, 2026, and season two was teased two days ahead of it, then without a date. The story comes from Miku's light novels, illustrated by Rein Kuwashima, which started life on Kakuyomu in 2017 and moved to print under Kadokawa's Fantasia Bunko line a year later. Kazuomi Minatogawa has drawn a manga version since 2019, and Yen Press handles both the novels and the manga in English.

The next stop is Machi Asobi vol.31 in Tokushima, where the show holds a stage event on October 18 featuring Matsuoka, Maeda and Hasegawa.
