It won the 71st Shogakukan Manga Award, has topped 1.7 million copies worldwide, and is published in English by VIZ Media. According to AnimeTV, its roots lie in an autobiographical one-shot drawing on Shinzo's own cancer treatment, for lymphoma, at the height of the pandemic. The anime itself was first revealed in July 2025, together with a live-action adaptation.
