Frieren marks three years on TV with an anniversary visual, one year before Season 3
A new illustration of Frieren, Fern and Stark was unveiled at a Season 2 screening event; Madhouse's third season, covering the Golden Land Arc, is scheduled for October 2027.
A burger far too big for three people sits at the center of the artwork Frieren: Beyond Journey's End released for its third TV anniversary. Frieren, Fern and Stark gather around it, while the window behind them reflects the original Hero Party. The visual was revealed at a special screening event for Season 2 that the main voice cast attended.
The anime first aired in September 2023 on a 28-episode run, and its 10-episode second season followed in Winter 2026. Season 3, confirmed when Season 2 ended, is now roughly a year out: it is scheduled for October 2027 and will adapt the Golden Land Arc, the stretch of the manga that brings in Macht, one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. Madhouse continues to produce, with Tomoya Kitagawa, who helmed Season 2, set to direct again and Evan Call returning as composer.
Before then, a Frieren concert tour opens its North American leg on October 4 at Carnegie Hall in New York; other international stops have not been announced. The source manga, written by Kanehito Yamada and drawn by Tsukasa Abe, has run in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020.
