Asta has gone full Devil Union in the first of what Black Clover Season 2 is billing as its "Most Terrifying Battle Visual" series, posted after episode 3 aired on October 17. The same drop introduced designs for Lilith and Nahamah, two high-ranking devils, and AnimeTV reports that Satsuki Kokufu is voicing one of them; in a comment, she said she gave it everything while surrounded by more experienced performers and enjoyed playing a devil of that power.

The new season premiered on October 3, 2026, five years after the first TV anime ended. Crunchyroll is streaming it worldwide, and its opening theme is WANIMA's "Kienai Riyuu." Studio Pierrot is back at the helm, with Ayataka Tanemura directing, Keiichiro Ochi on series composition, Itsuko Takeda designing the characters and Minako Seki composing the music.

Pierrot's first run lasted 170 episodes from 2017 to 2021, and the feature Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King followed in June 2023 on Netflix. Yuki Tabata's manga began in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 and later shifted to Jump GIGA; Anime Corner reports that it ended on May 1 after eleven years of serialization. English readers can find it through Viz Media, MANGA Plus and the Shonen Jump app.

The story centers on two orphans left at the same church on the same day: Yuno, born with exceptional magic, and Asta, born with none. At fifteen both receive grimoires, and Asta's turns out to be a rare anti-magic book that cancels spells, which sets the rivals on the same road toward becoming Wizard King.
