Ascendance of a Bookworm will adapt Part 4, the Royal Academy arc, with WIT STUDIO staying on
Minutes after the 24th and final episode of Adopted Daughter of an Archduke aired, the franchise confirmed a TV anime of Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee. No date, cast or staff list has been given yet.
Rozemyne is heading to school. Saturday night's finale of Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, broadcast by Yomiuri TV and the wider Nippon TV network, doubled as a launch pad: the official site used it to confirm that Miya Kazuki's fourth arc, Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee (Kizoku-in no Jishō Tosho Iin), is getting its own TV run, again produced by WIT STUDIO.
That is all that is firm so far. No airdate, voice lineup or crew list accompanied the news, so whether the team behind the arc that just wrapped will carry on is still unconfirmed.
Two illustrations to mark the moment
The show's X account signed off with an end card from You Shiina, who has drawn the books' artwork from the start. WIT STUDIO answered with a congratulatory sketch by Aiko Minowa, the designer it hired to redraw the cast for its first outing with the property.
A franchise that changed hands
The premise: Urano Motosu, a Tokyo bibliophile on the verge of becoming a librarian, is killed by an earthquake and wakes in Ehrenfest inside Myne, the frail child of a poor guard. Reading material there is an aristocratic privilege, so she resolves to produce her own, and her climb through that rigid hierarchy eventually gives her the name Rozemyne.
Ajia-do made the earlier TV seasons, debuting in autumn 2019 with 14 episodes and returning in spring 2020 and again in spring 2022. WIT STUDIO's take premiered on April 4, 2026 and kept going for half a year, two cours and two dozen episodes. Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Kowloon Generic Romance, Hayate the Combat Butler, We Never Learn: BOKUBEN) replaced Mitsuru Hongō as director; Mariko Kunisawa remained head writer and MICHIRU stayed as composer, while Yuka Iguchi and Show Hayami continued as Rozemyne and Ferdinand.
Plenty of story left to adapt
Kazuki originally published the saga for free on Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2013 through 2017. Its bound edition, with Shiina's art, reached its main conclusion in December 2023 with book 33, the twelfth installment of Part 5, and the series has sold beyond 13 million copies counting e-books. In English, J-Novel Club releases the prose and multiple comic spinoffs. Because Part 5 is the finale, the arc now headed for TV is the penultimate one, and every page of it is already in print.
Crunchyroll offered the WIT STUDIO season subtitled and dubbed across roughly 110 territories, including the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Nobody has said yet where Part 4 will stream.
