TOUGEN ANKI: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc

Tougen Anki is a dark action series built on an old Japanese folk tale. In the famous story of Momotaro, the "Peach Boy," a hero travels to an island and defeats the oni, which are demons or ogres from Japanese legend. Tougen Anki turns that tale upside down. In its world, the descendants of Momotaro and the descendants of the oni are still at war today, and the oni are the ones being hunted.

The manga is by Yura Urushibara. It has run in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion since June 2020, and it passed 6 million copies in circulation by July 2026. Studio Hibari made the first anime season, which aired from July to December 2025. This new part, the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, premieres on October 2, 2026.

The hero is Shiki Ichinose, a rough, hot-headed teenager. After the death of his adoptive father, he learns a shocking truth: he has oni blood. The Momotaro Agency, a powerful group made up of Momotaro's descendants, hunts people like him. To survive and to fight back, Shiki joins Rasetsu Academy, a secret school that trains young oni. His teacher is Naito Mudano, a very strong and serious fighter. Shiki's classmates each have their own special blood-based powers. Together, they learn to fight while slowly becoming friends.

In the first season, the students went through hard battles in Kyoto and in the Nerima area of Tokyo, and they came out stronger. This new arc starts with a split in the group. Yaoroshi, one of Shiki's classmates, leaves Rasetsu Academy. He joins a different oni group, one whose goal is to wipe out the Momotaro completely. When Shiki learns that this group is willing to harm even people who do not fight, he goes after his friend to bring him back. At the same time, there is a hidden research facility near Kegon Falls in Nikko, a famous waterfall north of Tokyo. Terrible experiments are said to be happening there.

The series is known for fast, bloody fights and for making readers ask who the real villains are. Both sides have done cruel things, and many characters fight for revenge. At the same time, the story has a strong theme of friendship and loyalty, as Shiki fights to protect the people close to him.

Tougen Anki contains a lot of violence, so it is best for teens and older viewers. Watch the first season before starting this arc.
