Yusuke Takemura's city has fallen to the undead, yet for some reason the zombies leave him alone. He has no interest in rescuing anyone; with the old rules gone, he simply goes after what he wants. The anime of Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai (In a World Full of Zombies I'm the Only One Who Doesn't Get Attacked) put that premise on screen in its main PV on October 10, along with a new key visual.

Broadcast begins on AT-X next January. Two more actors are now attached: Rikako Ito as Tokiko Kurose and Marie Miyake as Sayaka Makiura. Wataru Kato already leads as Yusuke, with Yuno Azuma as Mitsuki Fujino.

Two acts on the theme songs

The opener, "No Reaction", comes from RetBear, a unit headed by composer Kairiki Bear that handled the track's writing and arrangement itself, with 0in on vocals. The Frontier Works announcement says it is RetBear's first fresh anime opener in four years; its earlier anime work includes songs for Black Summoner and REVENGER. The closing song, "Tsukikage", belongs to Itsuka▶, an act whose style folds musical theater, pop, rock and poetry recitation together, and Seiji Miura is credited with its lyrics, music and arrangement.

The crew

Kazuya Fujishiro directs, with acca effe and Frontier Engine sharing animation duties. Yasushi Hirano, whose credits include City Hunter, supervises the scripts, and ISAO is scoring. The production also lists Koji Watanabe as sub-character designer, Shinji Katahira and Shinobu Takahashi as art directors, Yuki Sakurai of Rare Trick on photography and Koki Shinkai on editing.

From web novel to TV

Rokuro Uraji started the story on Shosetsuka ni Narou in January 2013. Frontier Works' Nox Novels imprint picked it up in February 2016, illustrated by Saburo. Chihiro Masuda has drawn a manga version since 2021, and a spin-off manga by Robo Kondo followed in October 2025. Frontier Works tallies the franchise's reach at upward of 750,000 printed books when spin-offs are counted, plus more than 9.5 million downloads to date, and pitches it as a zombie-panic action tale about "life" and "sex". AniList files the anime under action, ecchi, supernatural and thriller.
