Overgeared's English dub launches alongside the subtitled premiere on Crunchyroll
Crunchyroll released the dub of the J.C.Staff adaptation of Park Saenal's Korean web novel on September 27, the same day as the subtitled debut, with Ricco Fajardo voicing Grid and new episodes every Sunday.
English-speaking viewers did not have to wait for Overgeared. When the anime adaptation of the Korean web novel arrived on Crunchyroll on September 27, a full English dub went up the same day as the subtitled version, and both will continue weekly with new episodes each Sunday.
Ricco Fajardo leads the English cast as Grid, the down-on-his-luck gamer at the center of the story. Alexis Tipton voices Irene and Morgan Lauré plays Yura, and the credits list Bradley Gareth as Doran. Crunchyroll Studio recorded the dub under voice director Emily Fajardo, with Jared Smith writing the English adaptation.
A long road from KakaoPage
The source is a web novel by Park Saenal that ran on KakaoPage from November 2014 to April 2024 and was collected into 57 printed volumes by Maru Publishing; Wuxiaworld carries it digitally in English. A webtoon version drawn by Team Argo followed on KakaoPage in April 2020 and is available in English on Tapas, with Yen Press's Ize imprint handling print.
The anime itself was announced on June 3, 2026. In Japan it goes by Tempal: Item no Chikara and begins its television run on Tokyo MX and other channels on October 2, a few days after the Crunchyroll launch. AniList catalogs it as an action, adventure, comedy and fantasy series.
The Japanese side
J.C.Staff animates, with Ayako Kono directing and EGG FIRM on board as producer. Kenta Ihara oversees the scripts, Ryousuke Tanigawa designs the characters, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa writes the music. In the original Japanese track, Tatsumaru Tachibana plays Grid opposite Asami Seto as Yura. Re:name performs the opening theme, "SATISFY," and Tao sings the ending, "Ray of Emotion."
