Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi casts Rina Kawaguchi and Tomoya Ito as its after-hours friends ahead of a 2027 debut
feel.'s TV anime of Enma Akiyama's Weekly Young Jump office comedy revealed its first key visual and line-art designs on October 11, along with the two leads.
At work, Noa Saotome is the composed, career-minded art director every junior at her game company looks up to. After a breakup and a few drinks, she is someone else entirely, and the colleague who happens to see it is Rihito Otsuka, a self-described member of the "satori generation" whose life philosophy is to spend as little energy as possible. That accidental glimpse is how Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi. (Noa Is My Senior, and My Friend.) begins, and on October 11 its TV anime named the two people who will voice it.
Rina Kawaguchi, whose credits include Witch Watch, plays Noa, and Tomoya Ito (Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru) plays Rihito. The announcement came with the first key visual, which seats the pair next to each other against a white backdrop scattered with pastel pixel art, Noa in a denim jacket with her pink bob and Rihito in a white shirt. Line-art character designs for both were shown for the first time as well. The series is slated for 2027, but broadcasters, streaming partners and a specific date are still to come.
A familiar team at feel.
The adaptation was first revealed on July 13 alongside teaser art, naming feel. as the studio. Shinsuke Yanagi is directing, after helming Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki and My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex. Keiichiro Ochi, the series composer on The Quintessential Quintuplets and Girlfriend, Girlfriend, handles the scripts, and Yumiko Yamamoto, whose work includes Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld, is designing the characters.
From Young Jump to TV
Akiyama's comedy began its run in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump on July 6, 2023. Eleven volumes were out by July, and the twelfth is due on October 19. At the 10th Next Manga Awards, it finished eighth among print entries.
This is not the first time the characters have had voices. A promotional video for the manga, released on October 19, 2023, cast Mayu Yoshioka as Noa and Kengo Kawanishi as Rihito; the anime has gone with a new pairing.
