Love Live! Nijigasaki's final chapter film opens February 5, 2027, closing the School Idol GPX in Tokyo
Sunrise's third and last Kanketsu-hen film dated its Japanese release with a teaser on October 16; Part 2 starts streaming in Japan on October 17 and new advance tickets go on sale October 23.
Nijigasaki High School's idol club now knows when its story ends: February 5, 2027. On that Friday, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club: Kanketsu-hen Saishuushou, the closing film of the three-part Kanketsu-hen (Final Chapter) project, arrives in cinemas across Japan. The day was unveiled on a Bandai Channel livestream on October 16, together with a teaser.
Until now the film had only a "winter" window, attached to a teaser visual back in January. Along with the date comes the destination. The School Idol GPX, whose earlier rounds carried the club to Okinawa and then around Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe, stages its climactic round in Tokyo, and that is where the members give their final show.
Three films, one finale
The trilogy picks up after the two TV seasons and the OVA. Kanketsu-hen Part 1 played in Japan from September 6, 2024, with Part 2 coming on November 7, 2025, so each installment has landed a little over a year after the last. Before the films, the TV anime began in October 2020 and came back for a second season in April 2022, and the OVA followed in June 2023. Sunrise has animated every entry, and Crunchyroll carries the two TV seasons.
Anyone who missed Part 2 in cinemas can catch up at home from October 17, when it becomes available on Japanese platforms such as DMM TV, d Anime Store, U-NEXT and Bandai Channel.
The team and the club
Tomoyuki Kawamura, who directed the TV series, is back in charge, working from Jin Tanaka's script. Takumi Yokota handles the character art and Mebachi the design work, while the score again comes from the pairing of Naoki Endo with EMME, and Lantis oversees music production. Bandai Namco Filmworks shares distribution with Shochiku's ODS division.
All thirteen club members keep their established voices. Yu Takasaki is again played by Hinaki Yano, Ayumu Uehara by Aguri Onishi, Kanata Konoe by Akari Kito, Ai Miyashita by Natsumi Murakami and Mia Taylor by Shu Uchida, to name five.
Tickets and a campaign
From October 23, a further round of Mubichike presale tickets will be available at 1,800 yen apiece. Until they run out, each is bundled with a random shaped clear card from a set of 13 illustrated by Mebachi, and a limited complete set adds a folding display board. That same day a hashtag campaign, #ひろがるえいがさき, kicks off on social media and runs through 11:59 p.m. on November 30, with postcards for 13 winners.
