Love Live! Hasunosora's TV anime premieres January 10, 2027, putting its three new 106th-class first-years front and center
Sublimation's seven-episode series starts on Tokyo MX and BS11 on a Sunday night in January. An October 18 livestream introduced newcomers Maika, Aoi and Mion and their voice actresses, along with a group key visual.
Kanazawa's school idols now have a broadcast slot. The TV anime of Love Live! Hasunosora Jogakuin School Idol Club starts on Sunday, January 10, 2027, at 10:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX. The date came out of an October 18 livestream that the project billed as the unveiling of its 106th-class cast.
A short series about a new class
The series is listed at seven episodes. It follows the club's 106th class, and its episodes cover April through June of that school year. Three first-years join the club in this cohort. Maika is clumsy but kind at heart, and Julia Hoshimiya voices her. Aoi is a cheerful busybody who keeps everyone's spirits up, played by Kana Asahi. Kanae Yuasa voices Mion, a prankster who loves magic shows.
The returning members round out the cast: Hina Sakurai as Ginko, Fuka Hayama as Kosuzu, Rin Kurusu as Hime, Miu Miyake as Ceras, and Amane Shindo as Izumi. The livestream also debuted a key visual of the whole 106th class and new artist photos of its cast. The story outline released alongside them teases a girl once called an angel of smiles, who arrives with the spring cherry blossoms and sets a sealed-away past moving again.
Broadcast schedule
BS11 follows Tokyo MX the same night at 24:30, Japan's late-night notation for 12:30 a.m. Sun TV airs it at 23:30, KBS Kyoto at 24:00, and TV Aichi and RKB Mainichi Broadcasting at 25:20. Shizuoka Broadcasting System comes last that night at 25:50. Hokkaido Broadcasting starts a day later, on Monday, January 11, at 25:29. Hokuriku Broadcasting gives it a Sunday afternoon slot at 4 p.m., beginning January 17. All of these times are subject to change. No streaming platforms had been named as of the announcement.
Familiar hands from the film
Go Kurosaki directs the series at Sublimation, and Sunrise handles planning and production. Fumiaki Maruto is in charge of series composition and scripts. Haruko Iizuka designs the characters, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa writes the score, with Lantis producing the music. Most of this team also made Bloom Garden Party, the franchise's fully 3D animated film, which opened in Japan in May 2026. That film is coming back to theaters, too: 4DX screenings start October 23 at 61 locations across Japan.
The fifth Love Live!
Hasunosora is the fifth series in the Love Live! franchise. It is set at a private girls' academy in Kanazawa and has run since 2023, built around the smartphone app Link! Like! Love Live! The project has since spread to YouTube videos, magazine features, a card game, music CDs and live concerts. The next big franchise event comes before the anime. The 15th-anniversary Love Live! Fes takes over Vantelin Dome Nagoya on November 14 and 15, 2026.
