Nina loses her place in Count Mirkwood's household over something she didn't do, and the people she meets on the road soon find they can't manage without her. Yasuaki Mikami's light novel series Looks like a Job for a Maid! The Tales of a Dismissed Supermaid is being made into a TV anime, publisher Earth Star Entertainment announced on October 1. No studio, staff, cast or broadcast window has been revealed yet.

The story began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro in September 2021. Earth Star picked it up for its Earth Star Novel line with illustrations by Kinta, and has released eight volumes since July 2022, the most recent in November 2025.

In the English edition's pitch, Nina is an unassuming servant whose housekeeping borders on the superhuman. Turned out after the accusation, she takes her first trip alone and keeps fixing other people's troubles along the way: Emily, a mage unable to cast spells; Astrid, an inventor whose experiments keep failing; and Tien, an orphan who struggles to hold down food. Back at the Mirkwood estate, meanwhile, things start going wrong without her.

A manga drawn by Ayahito Kumagai has run on the Comic Earth Star website since October 2022 and reached seven volumes by May 2026. J-Novel Club licenses both versions in English; the manga's first volume came out in September 2025, and the first novel followed that November.
