Kana Hanazawa and Kazuhiko Inoue lead Doga Kobo's The Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter in its first PV
The 2027 TV anime of Ichi Yukishiro's manga has cast the abandoned girl Eve and the old dragon who raises her, and revealed its first trailer, key visual and background art team.
A dying dragon, a castaway child, and a forest full of the world's junk: that is the setup of The Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter (Hone Dragon no Mana Musume), and on October 8 KADOKAWA put voices to it. Kana Hanazawa, whose credits include Angel Beats!, is cast as the girl Eve, and Kazuhiko Inoue, familiar from Natsume Yuujinchou, plays her guardian Nem.
Alongside the casting came the opening promotional video, the first in which the two leads can be heard, plus a key visual and confirmation that the series is aiming for 2027. Which channel carries it, the exact start date, and who streams it abroad have not been revealed.
In the story, a small Eve is dumped in the so-called Forest of Scraps, where an aged dragon living out his last stretch decides to look after her. Years later he passes away, and Eve's summoning magic drags him back as a living skeleton. Because that new body will not last, the pair set off together toward human lands, with the dragon hoping she can master her abilities before his time runs out. AniList tags the title as adventure and fantasy.
Studio and staff
Doga Kobo handles production, under director Kuniyasu Nishina, who was previously an episode director on Isekai Ojisan. Yuka Yamada (Hoshifuru Oukoku no Nina) is structuring the scripts, and Tomoya Atsumi, an animation director on Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, is drawing up the character designs. Backgrounds come from KUSANAGI, with Daiki Kuribayashi and Yuuki Hatakeyama named for that department. The adaptation itself was first made public in March 2026.
Where the manga stands

In English, J-Novel Club picked up digital rights in May 2022, with its sixth digital volume out on April 29 and a physical edition of that volume scheduled for December 1.
