Jump Square's Phantom Busters is getting a TV anime in 2027
Neoshoco's ghost-hunting school club comedy, with 1.4 million copies in circulation, was confirmed for a 2027 anime on September 24; no studio or cast has been named.
A club of teenage exorcists is heading to television. On September 24, a newly opened official X account confirmed that Phantom Busters, Neoshoco's manga, will be adapted as a TV anime in 2027, marking the news with a fresh illustration from the author. Beyond the year, the reveal came with no studio, staff or cast.
Neoshoco thanked readers for making it happen and said the series' fun "will stand out even more when animated." The manga has run in Shueisha's Jump SQ. since August 2023 and has passed 1.4 million copies including digital. In English, VIZ Media has published it since October 2025, and it also appears on the Shonen Jump app and MANGA Plus. Volume 8 arrives in Japan on October 2.
The story pairs Eugene Korekishi, a top student who insists ghosts aren't real, with Mogari Shishikuro, an exorcist who literally devours spirits but cannot see them unaided. Their answer is to found a paranormal club at school, and the pair soon go looking for members with the sight, among them Kaoru Kanzaki and Kotaro Tamon.
