Gachiakuta comes to Toonami on October 17, a week after Wind Breaker joins the block
Adult Swim is adding Bones Film's trash-world action series in the 1 a.m. Eastern slot, while CloverWorks' delinquent drama Wind Breaker takes 12:30 a.m. starting October 10.
Rudo's fall into the Pit is headed to American cable. Adult Swim's Toonami block will add Gachiakuta to its Saturday-night lineup on October 17, in the 1:00 a.m. Eastern slot.
The block posted the schedule change on its official Facebook page, and Gachiakuta is not the only arrival. Wind Breaker joins a week earlier, on October 10, taking the 12:30 a.m. slot, and the DC Comics animated series Get Jiro! is also new to Toonami this month.
Once both anime are in place, the October 17 night, which technically runs past midnight into Sunday, October 18, opens with Get Jiro! at midnight. Wind Breaker and Gachiakuta follow back to back, with One Piece after them at 1:30, then IGPX, Lazarus and Blue Exorcist, before a repeat of Get Jiro! closes the block at 3:30.
What Gachiakuta is
Kei Urana's manga is the basis for the series. Its hero, Rudo, is an orphan blamed for a killing and cast down into the Pit, a trash-filled underworld where he finds a whole society living and ends up joining a band of monster fighters who wield special powers. Bones Film produced the 24-episode first season, which began in summer 2025 and streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired; Crunchyroll also streams an English dub. ComicBook notes that the show won Best New Anime at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026.
A second season is in the works, but no release date or other details have been given.
And Wind Breaker
The CloverWorks series centers on Furin High School, whose delinquent students may struggle in class but appoint themselves protectors of their town. Its two seasons premiered in spring 2024 and spring 2025, and Crunchyroll carries both, with English dubs.
