Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal sets a 2027 debut with its first teaser
Sunrise's next Code Geass anime, directed by Kazuya Nomura with scripts by Mado Nozaki, has released a teaser, a visual and its core staff ahead of a 2027 premiere.
A new corner of the Code Geass universe is coming. CODE GEASS Star Chaser Aspal (Code Geass Hoshi Oi no Aspal) now has a first teaser and visual, published on the franchise's official YouTube channel, along with confirmation that it premieres in 2027.
Kazuya Nomura is in the director's chair, and Mado Nozaki is writing the series. Rolua draws the characters, while Yoshi. handles the Agalmata, the mechanical designs of this new setting. Junbun Lin is responsible for backgrounds and special effects, and Ichinogi made the title logo. Sunrise holds the original-work credit and is handling both planning and animation production itself.
The timing is no accident. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion first aired in October 2006, and the franchise has spent its 20th-anniversary year on a string of projects: a free-to-play mobile title, Code Geass Knightmare Survivor; a manga crossover with Mobile Suit Gundam Wing; and a retrospective in Japan that screened 13 films from the series in order from January 6 through June 25, 2026.
The last animated release was Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, which reached theaters in four parts between May and August 2024 and also streamed on Disney in episodic form starting June 21 of that year. Beyond the year, no premiere date, cast or streaming partner has been named for Star Chaser Aspal so far.
