But for the first time in a long while, Kakeru wants to do something for someone else. From there, the story follows the two of them as they slowly get closer. They share small, everyday moments. They take walks, have talks, and spend time with friends such as Yuko Hayase, Koharu's close friend. Kakeru starts to look for a real way to make her wish come true. Along the way, he begins to change. He opens up, and he finds a reason to step out of his shell. Koharu, too, finds someone who sees her as a whole person, not just as a girl who cannot see. The tone is soft, emotional, and bittersweet. The title's image of a clear night sky fits the mood. Much of the story happens in quiet night scenes, and it plays with the idea of light for someone who lives without sight.
