Yume Nijino

Yume Nijino is a cheerful first-year middle school student who enrolls at Four Star Academy, a special school for training idols, together with her best friend and roommate, Koharu Nanakura. Her dream of becoming an idol starts the moment she attends a concert by the school's top idol unit, S4, and decides she wants to stand on that same stage herself one day.

Yume wears her heart on her sleeve, tearing up easily whenever something touches her, but that same sensitivity comes with a stubborn refusal to ever give up on her goals. She looks up to Hime Shiratori, one of the reigning S4 members, admiring her gracefulness and star power as a model for what she hopes to achieve, though Yume works to find her own unique way of connecting with an audience rather than copying Hime's style directly.

At school, Yume quickly becomes close with a wide circle of classmates, including fellow students Lily Shirogane, Rola Sakuraba, Ako Saotome, and Mahiru Kasumi, each specializing in a different performance style. She also catches the attention of Subaru, a member of the boy idol group M4, who appears to have feelings for her. Yume's constant drive to improve and her genuine warmth toward her friends and rivals alike make her the heart of the story's idol competitions.
