Shoko Ieiri studied at Tokyo Jujutsu High at the same time as Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, and the three were close as students. Unlike her old classmates, Shoko rarely fights. Instead, she masters a rare healing technique that lets her mend wounds instead of causing them, and she becomes the school's main doctor after graduating.
She comes across as serious and a little gloomy, more focused on finishing her work than on socializing. Because her healing ability is considered too important to risk losing in combat, she is kept away from the front lines and spends much of her time treating injured students and examining bodies in the school's morgue, a grim but necessary part of her job. Her steady, no-nonsense presence makes her a calming figure for the people around her, even if she rarely shows warmth openly.
Over the years, Shoko's skill saves several lives, including a school staff member and Megumi Fushiguro. Her bond with Gojo remains one of the series' quieter, longer-running relationships, built on years of shared history rather than dramatic moments. Later in the story, her medical skill becomes central to one of the plot's strangest turns, when she helps transplant a brain into Gojo's body after his death.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is the second TV season of the dark action series based on Gege Akutami's manga from Weekly Shonen Jump. It was animated by MAPPA and directed by Shota Goshozono, who took over from the first season's director, Sunghoo Park. It has 23 episodes and aired without a break from July 6 to December 28, 2023, on MBS and TBS in Japan. Crunchyroll streams it in most places outside Asia. The season is made of two story arcs, and they feel very different from each other. In this world, strong bad feelings such as fear and hate create monsters called curses. Most people cannot see them. Jujutsu sorcerers are people with special power who fight curses and protect everyone else. Many of them train at Tokyo Jujutsu High, a secret school for sorcerers. The first arc, "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death," goes back in time to 2006. It is a prequel, which means it happens before the first season and before the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Here we meet Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto as teenage students. In the main story Gojo is a grown-up teacher, but here he is young, cocky, and full of jokes. Geto is calm and thoughtful, and the two are best friends and the strongest pair at the school. They get a mission to guard a 14-year-old girl named Riko Amanai. She has a special role tied to a powerful being called Master Tengen, and many groups want her dead. One of them is a cold and very skilled hired killer who has no cursed energy at all but is still terrifying. This arc is short, sad, and beautifully drawn. It shows how a friendship can start to break and why some characters later make the choices they do. The second arc, "Shibuya Incident," returns to the present day of the main story, in 2018. On Halloween night, October 31, the busy Shibuya area of Tokyo is full of people in costumes. A group of powerful curses and their human allies use the crowd to set a careful trap, and their target is Gojo, the strongest sorcerer alive. Yuji Itadori, the boy who carries the cursed king Sukuna inside his body, and his classmates Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki rush into the city with many other sorcerers, including the tired but reliable Kento Nanami. The fight spreads across train stations and streets, and the arc becomes one long, intense battle. The tone of this season is much darker than the first. There is a lot of violence, and important characters face serious danger. Shibuya Incident in particular is known among fans for its huge shocks, so viewers who want to avoid spoilers should be careful online. The animation is fast and stylish, with fights that use bold colors and camera moves. Many viewers were impressed by how the season captures both the quiet, warm feeling of the 2006 story and the chaos of the Halloween battle. For new viewers, it is best to watch Season 1 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 first. This season builds on both and leads directly into the next part of the story.
