He is the son of Baribara, a female general of the Kingdom of Marronnier, and the fifth of seven brothers.
True to his name, he possesses a mysterious power that allows him to converse with and command animals. He is somewhat uncomfortable interacting with people. He is a triplet alongside his younger brothers—the sixth, a master swordsman, and the seventh, a glutton.

The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom is based on a manga by Nao Iwamoto. It began in September 2016 in Flowers, a Shogakukan magazine for adult women readers. This kind of manga is called josei. The series has 11 book volumes as of June 2026, and in 2018 it took first place for manga aimed at female readers in the famous "Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" guide. Viz Media is bringing it out in English. The TV anime is made by J.C.Staff and directed by Kiyoko Sayama. It started on October 3, 2026, on NHK Educational TV, and it streams worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. The plan is 20 episodes in two parts, and the singer Yama performs the opening song. The story is set on a large continent split into eight countries, with Marronnier in the center. Marronnier is a strong military land, and its top commander is a woman named Baribara. She is a tough general and the mother of seven grown sons. Each son leads his own group of knights. The brothers are known by nicknames that match their personalities instead of normal names. One loves swords, one is always hungry, one is always cold, one is always hot, one can tame wild animals, one is very kind and loving, and one can never sleep. These funny names tell you a lot about each man before he says a word. Baribara sends each son to one of the seven neighboring countries as a peace messenger, called a goodwill ambassador. On the surface, their job is to build friendship. But the brothers also share a romantic dream: they each hope to one day save a princess like the heroes in old stories. In each new land, a brother meets new people, sees strange customs, and learns about the problems hidden inside that country. The series moves between the brothers, so it feels like several stories in one. Some parts are light and funny, and some deal with serious things like politics, power, and cultural differences between nations. One princess even hides who she is and dresses as a boy named Bruno so she can travel with one of the knights. The manga is loved for its pretty art, its many handsome characters, and its mix of comedy, romance, and fairy tale. If you enjoy royal fantasy stories with big casts and warm humor, this is one to try.
