Hikari Yagami

Hikari Yagami, known to friends as Kari, is the youngest of the original DigiDestined kids and the last to join the team, arriving a little later than the others. She is partnered with a cat-like Digimon and carries the Crest of Light, a fitting symbol for someone who always tries to see the good in people. Gentle and caring, Kari puts other people's needs ahead of her own and avoids conflict whenever she can, though she can turn serious fast when the situation truly calls for it.

Kari's sensitivity is both a gift and a weakness. Because she feels things so deeply, she is unusually open to the Digital World's spiritual side, which lets her connect with light-based powers few others can touch. That same openness, though, leaves her exposed to dark forces that prey on strong emotions, and more than once she finds herself targeted or shaken by them. Leaning on her friends, especially a close companion, helps her grow braver and more confident in standing her ground against that darkness.

Kari looks up to her older brother, Taichi Yagami, with real admiration, and the two share an unusually close bond; they even used to share a bedroom when they were younger. That closeness cuts both ways: when Taichi is believed to have died, Kari's grief is so overwhelming that it triggers serious consequences in the Digital World. As she grows from a sickly child into a steadier teenager, she keeps her soft heart but learns to trust her own strength just as much as she trusts the people around her.
