Allen

Dorei Kara no Kitai to Hyouka no Sei de Sakushu Dekinai no da ga has a very long title, which roughly means "I Can't Exploit My Slaves Because of Their Expectations and Evaluations." To exploit someone means to use them unfairly for your own gain. The story began as a light novel, a kind of Japanese novel with anime-style pictures, written by Kyuukawa Kaire with art by Heirou. The first book came out on March 17, 2023, under the Dengeki no Shin Bungei label from Kadokawa. A manga version drawn by Sachi Nishioka followed, with its first volume released on May 24, 2024, under Kadokawa Comics Ace. It has now been chosen for an anime. The hero of the story is Allen, a boy who dies and is born again into a fantasy world. Before he arrives, a goddess gives him a special and very strong ability called "Regeneration." With it, he can heal any wound or sickness. Allen does not see much use for this gift at first. Then he thinks of a selfish plan. In this world, people can be bought and sold as slaves. Allen decides to buy hurt and sick slave girls, heal them, and then live a lazy, comfortable life surrounded by them. His plan does not go the way he hoped. Once the girls are healed, it turns out that many of them have amazing skills and powers of their own. They work so fast and so well that farms grow, houses go up, and the land around them quickly turns rich and busy. Allen, who wanted to sit back and relax, suddenly finds that he is hardly needed at all. To stay useful, Allen tries using ideas from his past life on modern-day Earth. But this backfires too, in a funny way. The girls are so capable that they learn these ideas right away and use them even better than he could, which brings in still more success and money. Worst of all for Allen, the girls do not see him as a lazy man with a selfish plan. They think he is a wise and brilliant master, and their high hopes for him keep growing. That gap between what Allen really wants and what everyone believes about him is the main joke of the series. The show is a comedy fantasy adventure. It uses the familiar isekai idea, which is a story where a person is sent to or reborn in another world, and the harem idea, where one man is surrounded by many women. It also adds a light business and town-building side, since much of the fun comes from watching a small place grow into a busy, wealthy one. The idea of slavery is a key part of the setting, so viewers should know that it is a central theme. The story treats it mainly as the starting point for a comedy of misunderstandings rather than as a serious drama.
