Yani Neko Mini

Yani Neko Mini is a group of tiny comedy videos made as a bonus for fans of Yani Neko, which is known in English as Chainsmoker Cat. The characters are drawn with small bodies and big round heads, a cute style that is often called chibi. Fans could find the clips online, on the show's video page and on its social media. They are short extras, not a full story.

To enjoy them, it helps to know where they come from. Yani Neko began as a manga by NyanNyanFactory, a pen name shared by three artists. It started on Twitter in late 2022 and moved to Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine in February 2023. A TV anime followed from Bibury Animation Studios. It aired for 12 episodes between July and September 2026, and Taku Kimura directed it.

The world is a modern Japan where humans live beside beastfolk, who are people with animal features. The star is Yaniko Sato, a catgirl who smokes far too much. Her habit hurts her health and her wallet, and she is not good with money. She rents a small room in an apartment building in the fictional city of Nyagamihara, which is based on the real city of Sagamihara. Her neighbors include a rough but caring landlord, a gamer who streams online, and an amateur comedian. Her younger sister Imoko is a responsible high school student.

The full anime is a comedy for adults, and some viewers found it crude. The mini clips use the same cast but turn them into soft, playful little figures. There is no deep plot here. Expect quick jokes and silly faces, and a light way to spend a minute with Yaniko and her odd neighbors.
