Fanren Xiu Xian Zhuan Di Wu Ji

Fanren Xiu Xian Zhuan, also called A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality, is a long running Chinese animated series, known as donghua. It is based on a web novel by an author who writes under the name Wangyu. This fifth season is listed as an online release with 52 episodes, a run that covers episodes 177 to 228 of the whole series. One listing gives its first release date as June 13, 2026. It was made by the studios Original Force and Wonder Cat Animation, and it uses full computer animation. It is not a good place to start, so most viewers should watch the earlier seasons first.

The story is about Han Li. He comes from a poor village and was born without any special bloodline or hidden power. He is not a chosen hero. He joins a small sect, which is a school or group that teaches people how to become powerful. At first he is only a lower level member. Then he slowly climbs toward immortality, which means living a very long life and gaining great powers. This process is known as cultivation.

What makes Han Li different from many heroes is his style. He is careful, patient and good at planning. He does not rush into fights or trust strangers easily. He thinks first, and he uses clever ideas and hard work instead of luck. The series says that in this world, a sharp mind and patience can matter more than natural talent. Even so, he sometimes barely survives his battles. The world mixes an old time Chinese setting with fantasy, where sects, rare herbs, magic tools and rival cultivators all compete for power.

According to one listing, this season adapts a part of the story called the Mulan Zhi Zhan arc, sometimes translated as the Battle of Mulan. The same listing says it hints at a bigger conflict ahead. Because I could only confirm limited detail about this season, this summary does not describe its events further.

The tone is serious and adventurous, with plenty of action. Fans of cultivation stories, or of heroes who win by being smart and steady, will likely enjoy the series.
