About
EAT-MAN The Over Order is a brand new anime about Bolt Crank, the quiet traveler who can eat metal. It was announced on September 10, 2026. It is the first new EAT-MAN anime in almost 30 years, since EAT-MAN '98 ended in 1998. Before the reveal, a short mystery teaser showing screws was released. The full announcement came with a teaser video and a key visual. A second visual was shown at Crunchyroll's panel at New York Comic Con in October 2026.
The series is based on the manga EAT-MAN by Akihito Yoshitomi. The original comic ran in Dengeki Comic Gao! from 1996 to 2003 and filled 19 books. A sequel manga, EAT-MAN: The Main Dish, ran from 2014 to 2019. For this new anime, Yoshitomi himself writes the script and made the original designs. This is a big deal for fans, because the first anime from 1997 changed his story a lot. Satoshi Hirayama adapts Yoshitomi's designs for animation.
Studio Cab is making the anime, and Shunji Oga is the director. Oga is known for older works such as Hikawa Maru Monogatari and Amon Saga. Masashi Ebara returns to voice Bolt Crank, the same role he played in the earlier TV anime. Crunchyroll will stream the series when it starts. As of October 2026, no premiere date has been announced.
Bolt Crank is an explorer. In his world, that word means a person who takes on dangerous jobs for pay. Bolt has a rare and very useful power. He can swallow non-living things, like tools, machine parts, and guns. Later, he can rebuild them and pull them out of his body, whole and working. This means he can face almost any danger and still bring out the right weapon when he needs it.
Bolt is a man of mystery. He does not talk about where he came from or why he travels. He simply accepts jobs and keeps moving across the world. On this journey, he meets many people. Some he helps, some he says goodbye to, and some carry secrets of their own. The story touches on lost memories and on people trying to protect something precious. There are also hints of a hidden truth somewhere in the world, waiting to be found.
The EAT-MAN world mixes high technology with a feeling like an old fairy tale. The tags for this new series point to robots, artificial intelligence, cyberpunk style, and a lot of travel. Cyberpunk means a future world full of advanced machines and computers, often with a gritty, dark mood. Like the manga and the earlier anime, the show is expected to follow Bolt through many separate adventures, each with its own people and problems.
For longtime fans, The Over Order is a chance to see the series told closer to how its creator wanted. For new viewers, it is an easy place to start, since each story tends to stand on its own. More details, such as the start date and the rest of the cast, should come closer to the premiere.
