About
BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita is part of BanG Dream!, a big Japanese music franchise that mixes anime, mobile games, and real concerts. This series tells the story of Mugendai Mewtype, one of the franchise's bands. What makes this band different is that it is a virtual band. Its members perform as VTubers, which are online performers who use animated avatars, or digital characters, instead of showing their real faces. In real life, the band has held live concerts. The anime was announced on September 7, 2025, at the band's fourth live show, called 'Unlock the Future'.
The show was made by Nichicaline, a new studio name from the company Sanzigen, which is known for 3D computer animation. Like other recent BanG Dream! shows, this one is made fully in CGI. Tomomi Umetsu directed it, Midori Gotou led the writing, and the music came from Phyz. It began on July 2, 2026, on Tokyo MX and other channels, with 13 episodes, and it streams worldwide on Crunchyroll and Muse Asia.
The main character is Arale Nakamachi. Before the story begins, she sang online under the name Erea. But people left cruel comments about her, and the hurt was too much. She stopped performing and pulled away from the stage. When the series starts, she is still carrying that pain.
Then Arale is pulled into a new project with four other girls. They are brought together fast, almost by chance, and they are asked to debut as a virtual band. Arale takes the role of vocalist, the singer. Nonoka Miyanaga plays lead guitar. Ritsu Minetsuki, Arale's childhood friend, plays rhythm guitar. Miyako Fuji plays keyboard, and she also draws manga. Yuno Sengoku is the DJ, who adds electronic sounds. Each girl is talented and has a strong personality. The trouble is that they do not know how to work as one team yet.
Much of the story is about that struggle. The girls argue, doubt each other, and learn how to trust. The online music world is harsh, full of numbers, views, and comments, and not everyone wants them to succeed. A rival named Viola adds even more pressure. For Arale, every step on stage is also a step toward healing. Through her new friends, she slowly finds the courage to sing again.
The show looks at modern themes in a simple, honest way. It shows both the fun and the stress of performing on the internet, and how words from strangers can hurt. It also shows how friendship and shared music can help someone get back up. The concert scenes are bright and full of energy, with lots of songs from the real band. If you like idol and band stories such as Bocchi the Rock! or other BanG Dream! series, this is a colorful and heartfelt new entry.
